Part 2 of our Citroen C3 Review
The 1.4 VTi is not necessarily the best engine for the C3, but it is nice for a change to have a petrol engine in a small car. You get used to the almost on/off nature of driving a small, turbo diesel that it’s rather nice to get a petrol engine with more linear power and a more fluid note for a change. But 95bhp is not quite enough for really flying along – even in a compact-sized car – but it’s enough to propel the C3 around town quite adequately.
Hyundai Veloster Turbo for the UK gets 186hp
The Hyundai Veloster Turbo – due to be revealed at Geneva next week – will get 186hp and 270NM of torque for the UK & Europe. When the Hyundai Veloster was confirmed for the UK and Europe back in November, we did say that it was likely to come with fewer horses but more torque to make it more fun to drive on European roads than the bigger horses and lower torque figures the American version gets. Now we learn that the UK and European Veloster Turbo will come packing 186hp (183bhp) – down from over 200hp in the US version – but with 270NM (199lb/ft) of torque.
Isn’t virtual reality a great thing? It lets you push the boundaries and do things you wouldn’t get away with in real life. Which explains why we’ve been sent pictures of this – the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo, a concept car that will exist only in Gran Turismo 6 when it’s launched on 6 December 2013.
